Equipment

  • Dry pan
  • Serving glasses or bowls
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt 360g
  • 6 Fresh figs quartered, approximately 300g
  • 2 tbsp Honey 30ml
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts roughly chopped, 60g
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon 2.5g
  • 1/2 tsp Orange zest 1g
  • Mint leaves A few for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Begin by gathering all of your ingredients and equipment. Ensure that the figs are ripe and sweet for the best flavor profile in your parfait.
  • In a dry pan over medium heat, lightly toast the chopped walnuts until they are golden and fragrant. This should take about 3-5 minutes. Stir them occasionally to prevent burning. Once done, set them aside to cool.
  • Take the Greek yogurt and divide it evenly between two serving glasses or bowls. This will form the first layer of your parfait.
  • Drizzle one tablespoon of honey over the yogurt in each glass, creating a sweet layer that will complement the tanginess of the yogurt.
  • Add a layer of quartered figs on top of the honey, distributing them evenly between the two servings.
  • Sprinkle the toasted walnuts over the figs, adding a crunchy texture and nutty flavor to the dish.
  • Garnish each parfait with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and orange zest for a citrusy, spiced note that elevates the overall taste.
  • If desired, add a few mint leaves on top of each parfait for a refreshing and decorative touch.
  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute Greek yogurt with a plant-based alternative and honey with maple syrup or agave nectar. The parfait can be customized with different nuts or seasonal fruits, and it's best enjoyed fresh.
