Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Two serving glasses or bowls
  • Spoon for layering
  • Knife for cutting figs

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Greek yogurt (17 oz / 480g)
  • 4 fresh figs, quartered (5.3 oz / 150g)
  • 4 tablespoons honey (2 oz / 60ml)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped (2 oz / 57g)
  • ground cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  • Begin by gathering all your ingredients. Ensure the Greek yogurt is cold from the fridge, and the figs are ripe and sweet.
  • Take two serving glasses or bowls and spoon in a portion of the Greek yogurt to form the first layer. Aim for about a quarter of the yogurt in each glass.
  • Drizzle a tablespoon of honey over the yogurt in each glass, allowing it to seep down and sweeten the yogurt layer.
  • Add a layer of fig quarters on top of the honey, distributing them evenly between the two glasses.
  • Sprinkle a handful of chopped walnuts over the figs, adding a satisfying crunch and a nutty flavor that complements the sweetness of the fruit and honey.
  • Repeat the layering process, adding another layer of yogurt, followed by a drizzle of honey, and more figs and walnuts, until all ingredients are used up.
  • Garnish the top of the parfait with a light dusting of ground cinnamon for a warm, aromatic touch.
  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together slightly.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute Greek yogurt with a plant-based alternative and use maple syrup or agave nectar in place of honey.
The parfait can be customized with different nuts or seeds, and seasonal fruits can be used in place of figs.
For added texture, consider adding a layer of granola or crushed biscuits.
If you're preparing this in advance, layer all ingredients except for the honey and add it just before serving to maintain the parfait's texture.
