- 1 whole Camembert cheese 250g / 8.8 oz
- 3 tablespoons honey 64g / 2.25 oz
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1g / 0.03 oz
- 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt 2.5g / 0.09 oz
- 1 baguette, sliced and toasted for serving
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven is warming, remove the Camembert from its packaging. If it comes in a wooden box, you can use this as a baking container; if not, place the cheese in a small baking dish.
Score the top of the Camembert in a crisscross pattern with a sharp knife, being careful not to cut through the rind entirely.
Gently push the sprigs of thyme into the scored lines on the cheese.
Drizzle the honey evenly over the top of the Camembert, allowing it to seep into the cuts. Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper and flaky sea salt.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is visibly soft and the honey is bubbling.
Remove the Camembert from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve warm with toasted baguette slices for dipping.
If you do not have fresh thyme, you can substitute with 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme.
For a nuttier flavor, add a handful of chopped walnuts on top before baking.
Pair this baked Camembert with a crisp white wine or a light-bodied red to enhance the flavors.
