Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole Camembert cheese 250g / 8.8 oz
  • 3 tablespoons honey 64g / 2.25 oz
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1g / 0.03 oz
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt 2.5g / 0.09 oz
  • 1 baguette, sliced and toasted for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven is warming, remove the Camembert from its packaging. If it comes in a wooden box, you can use this as a baking container; if not, place the cheese in a small baking dish.
  • Score the top of the Camembert in a crisscross pattern with a sharp knife, being careful not to cut through the rind entirely.
  • Gently push the sprigs of thyme into the scored lines on the cheese.
  • Drizzle the honey evenly over the top of the Camembert, allowing it to seep into the cuts. Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper and flaky sea salt.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is visibly soft and the honey is bubbling.
  • Remove the Camembert from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve warm with toasted baguette slices for dipping.

Notes

If you do not have fresh thyme, you can substitute with 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme.
For a nuttier flavor, add a handful of chopped walnuts on top before baking.
Pair this baked Camembert with a crisp white wine or a light-bodied red to enhance the flavors.
